For Christmas 2012 I embarked on what turned out to be a giant project. I decided to make a quilt for my boyfriends sister, who adores all things chintzy. At this point I was still lucky to be living off Goldhawk Road so had a great supply of cheap fabrics and quilting materials.
The photos here aren’t all of the finished article, but do show off the scale very well! I also hand sewed a monogram of Alice’s initials to one of the corners in a glittery pink. The back is a lovely blue liberty style print, that I bought on Goldhawk Road for about £3 a metre!
There was no pattern for this – I made it up as I went along using hints and tips from the Internet. I would recommend a hard surface to cut out the backing fabric and make sure it’s flat!!!
